About the ACM Hackathon

Welcome to Allegheny College ACM Student Chapter’s first-ever hackathon! This isn't just another coding competition - it's a celebration of what happens when different minds come together to innovate.

Whether you are a computer scientist, artist, musician, political scientist, or from any other field - this hackathon is for everyone. We believe the most creative solutions emerge when diverse perspectives unite.

We challenges you to think beyond traditional boundaries. True innovation happens when we combine our unique talents and viewpoints to create something greater than what any individual could achieve alone.

What Makes This Hackathon Special?

FAQ

This hackathon is open to all students, regardless of experience level or field of study. Whether you’re a programmer, designer, business strategist, or just someone with a passion for problem-solving, you are welcome to join!

Not at all! While coding is a big part of many projects, hackathons are about more than just programming. We encourage multidisciplinary teams, so designers, writers, researchers, and idea strategists can contribute in valuable ways.

You can form a team before the event or find teammates during the hackathon. We will have team formation activities and a dedicated space for participants to network and connect with others.

Bring your laptop, charger, and any other tools you need to work on your project. If you plan to stay for long hours, you may also want to bring snacks, water, and anything that keeps you comfortable. We’ll provide Wi-Fi, workspaces, and refreshments!

Yes! We have exciting prizes for the best projects based on different categories like innovation, impact, and teamwork. But beyond prizes, the biggest takeaway will be the experience, networking, and the chance to build something meaningful.
